Sketches from 2009's End (All Character Designs)
So much of what I draw is character concept art. Essentially that just means I draw characters standing around. Oddly, I really enjoy that part of the process. I develop stories for these characters, I swear.
These characters are pretty new. The lady on the left is a dark queen with dominion over a sizable kingdom in a fantasy world. She’s fashioned her crown with a strap so she can wear it always as a reminder to all that she’s the boss. The Robin Hood type-guy is a bit of a fraud. He’s a little more concerned with his public image than being a real vigilante. I guess the overall idea here is putting the spotlight on the more despicable characters. People usually like the villains the most anyway.

The second corset in this entry. My super heroes look like fetishists and cat burglars.

i find that making up stores around my artwork gives me a better idea of what i want to achieve
